Joel Kimball is a professional illustrator and second generation fireman (thanks to his Father and Uncles). Joel uses his years of experience in the fire service to spark life and meaning into his fire art. He has served as both a suburban and wild land fireman, and is currently an Assistant Fire Chief and Training Officer for the City of Tekoa F.D. and Whitman Co. F. D. 1, in Washington State. One
of the original
pioneers in the fire
art genre and the VERY FIRST to create
personalized and customized fire art pictures, Joel is not content
to simply create
paintings that look like photographs of fire scenes. Instead, he
explores the realms of fantasy and light to create
images not likely seen on a "real world" fire ground. Joel stretches and
bends the boundaries of
what could be. And yet . . . he brings a depth of reality
to his fire art work as only some one who has "been
there" can. As one of his fans put it, his art is "hot". His
award winning fire art work
has been seen around the world in books,
magazines, webs sites, and most recently, was featured nationwide on an episode of Fox Television's "Renovate my family", decorating
the wall of an "injured in the line of duty"
fire man's house. Want to read some funny fire stories ? |
